Activity Description
'Banco de Alimentos' is an association that takes care of people with basic necessities. They are in charge of gathering food and then donating it to the people in need. The 28th and 29th of November the organization does what is called the "Great Gathering" that takes place in every city of Spain, where the people who go to ths upermarket have the possibility of donating food to give to the poor people.
This is where I come in, I will be volunteering in this organization during the 29th of November for the "Great Gathering". I will be in the supermakets collecting the food people donate, organizing it in boxes, in the supermaket BM of 'Los Chopos', Getxo, that will be later delivered to the poor.

Personal Goal
I chose this activity as I have seen past years this gathering be done and I have always wanted to participate. I want to help the poor people have a better life, so this way I will be helping in the process to help the poor. I will be encouraging people to donate food to the poor. When I finish and see boxes full, I will have accomplished my goal.

Relfections
Before going to the suepermarket I felt really tired because I had not slept much last night. Isabel and I went in the hour of lunch and we did not know well how it worked, and we were lucky and Claudia and Elena were still there and showed us how it worked. We had to asked everyone who came in if they wanted to help in the food bank to deliver food to the poor.
We exchanged turns asking the people, and many people did help in the cause, but others were rude and said they did not want to help or just did not answer. But many people did help, and we filled the boxes with food that people were donating to the poor, which was very encouraging and made me feel happy for our community that cares for other people.
There was a girl that when we asked her if she wanted to help, did not answer, just mumbled something, and then when she came out she gave us a bag full of food she was donating. I thought that was beautiful, because I imagine she spoke another language and did not understand me, but saw what other people were doing and decided to help.
I felt really good helping in the food bank to deliver food to the poor. It made me feel as if I was helping our world, because poverty is something serious, and our community united and helped the poor have a good christmas with sufficient food.

Final Reflection
The food collection overall was a success and I can happily say I have accomplished my goal. All this food will be sent to people in need and I feel satisfie to say I have helped make this a success. I overcame my shyness and worked collaboratively with my classmates and the cashiers of the supermarket. I always gave my best so I can close this activity feeling satisfied.
