HIKING CLUB

During the activity: 27/09/2014

It has been such a nice experience. I have a had a wonderful time with my classmates and the 12th graders. Not only that, but we climed to the top of the mountain eveyone smiling, having wonderful views, taking pictures...I am so glad I came! It is true that at first it was a bit awkward, and groups were a bit separated, but once we where beginning to get warm we where talking to each other and having a really good time. Some 12th graders came late, so we had to wait a bit for them in the "faro de plencia", but it was okay becauase the views were amazing. When we reached the top of the mountain, we then went to some wort of bunkers that from the Spanich Civil War which were so much fun. In conclusion, it was a wonderful trip to do some exercise and to get to connect with the students and teachers.

Reflections:

Before the Activity

I was bit nervous because I didn't know how this mountain was going to be in terms of difficulty. I had hiked before with my class, but we were accompained by our parents and it was different. This activity was going to be very early in the morning and I felt I was going to be too tired to hike. But at the same time I was very excited, because anything new is an adventure worth trying. On the other hand, I felt that going with the 12th graders and teachers was going to be a bit awkward because I didn't really get along with them that much. Anyway, I was also going with my classmates, and I know I would feel very proud once I climbed the mountain.

Final Reflection

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to go to other Hiking Club trips as they were on Saturdays, and I have French class. I found that very dissapointing because I really wanted to go. Besides, I have not reached my goal, as I have only been able to go to one trip. Nevertheless, I will try to reach my goal by my own means. Apart from that, from the one excursion I have attended I have been able to collaborate and connect more with my "IB classmates" (11th and 12th graders) and it has motivated me to go with my family or with my friends hiking around Bilbao, in search of new places and hideaways, like the bunkers.
