
Activity description:
Attend to dance classes in EBZ studio in Las Arenas. I will participate in the group of modern dance with girls my age.

Personal goals:
When I was younger I attended dance classes and I loved dancing. However, I did not continue dancing and now I want to start again and try to get back all the skills I lost. I also want to gain more flexibility to be able to do more dance moves. I know I will have achieved my objectives when I feel comfortable following my teacher's and classmates' dance moves.

October
This month I started dance class. I went to dance classes when I was younger, but then I started doing tennis, padel, skiing, horse riding..., and it was too much. So, this year I decided to start again. I was really really nervous because I didn't know anyone. I was going to a group of people my age, which made me even more nervous because that means they would probably have many years of experience dancing. When I got there, I discovered that all of the girls had been attending the same group in this academy since three years ago, which made me feel as if I was going to be excluded. However, the welcomed me with a warm hug, which made me feel really well. But I still didn't feel safe, next we had to warm up, and as it was obvious, I had the least flexibility skills of all of them. I realized I am in a terrible flexibility situation which I don't know if I will be able to evolve. It was the first day of the year so we didn't start any choreography, we just followed some dance moves.
November
I don't really know if I am progressing. I guess its still too soon. I feel very demotivated because I thought it would be easier than it is. My classmates are really good dancers, and I feel I slow down the group. I still try to give my best, but I am not too sure it is being enough. I always want to be in the last row so no one sees me. I am going every day and I am practiving at home and warming up at home everyday. I hope that with some time I can see some progress and my self esteem boosts up. For the moment, I am not very motivated but the girls inthe group are very nice and helping me do my best.
December
I feel much more motivated, even though my skills have not improved much. It might be that Christmas is comming soon. Anyway, even though my flexibility skills are still pretty much lame, I know the dance moves to the song perfectly, even without looking at the teacher and I don't feel at all emabrrased when I dance because the dance moves we are doing don't require an extent amount of flexibility skills. So, I am quite happy in my dance class!!
January
During the winter break I have been practicing the choreography at home in front of my parents and cousins and I feel more comfortable. Plus, I have been following the exercising for warming up and my flexibility skills have increased!! So I guess its all good news. A new girl has signed up for our dance group but she still hasn't come. I hope she's not much better than I am haha. I feel I am getting closer to my goals.
February
The new girl is similar to me in terms of flexibility (now that I have progressed) so that's great because me can help each other out. The teacher started showing us a choreography that we will dance on the festival on June. Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the festival as I have my B2 French level exam. Nevertheless, I will continue going to class until March, because we will keep practicing this choreography and in April they will start practicing for the festival with the established positions. So, I have until the end of next month to reach my goal.
March
This class we finished the choreography and I felt very happy with my performance. All of the group and the teacher cooperated with each other amazingly, and formed a really good team. I am very sad that I am leaving, but I feel I have learned a lot during this year. I am so glad I decided to take dance classes again, because I have increased my awareness of my dancing skills. So, overall it has been an amazing experience.
Final Reflection
Now that I have finished the activity I will analyze my goals which consisted just in increasing (noticeably) my flexibility and being comfortable when dancing. The second goal I have completely achieved, as it first took me some time but ended really enjoying dancing even when I was in the first row. It was really nice because the teacher allowed us to offer some dance moves if we wanted. As for the flexibility skills, I have improved at it for sure, I do not feel satisfied as to say I have accomplished my goal. Even though I have finished the classes, I will still keep practicing at home and I will definitely go to see my group to the festival on June!
